438 Vocation

Sometimes my family makes witty remarks. One of them is "the best job is something that requires you to optimize your spirit, brain and body as well". In other words you'll reach your best job if you can sense through spirit, understand through brain, and experience through body. Not a few people would probably agree that they are using mostly brain only. That's why we should seek for the best one .

437 LipSync

Here's fun loving weekend. There's lots of movies I want to watch, books and magazines to read, music to listen, dance to try, ideas to think. Already my curiosity is too large to fill within a couple of days, but I found a new kind of entertainment. LipSync battle.

Emma Stone and Jimmy Fallon's LipSync battle is incredibly fun to watch. I've not much seen such a combination of seriousness and playfulness like this. Of course they are both professional entertainers and no doubt they are performing pretty good, but their funniest works encourage people who are not much of a singer---that we have fun even though we cannot sing.

As you see, lip-sync is not just mocking. Expression, gestures and even dancing,  and calling attention of the audience, are all real performance with only one exception of the singing voice. If your voice is weak and you have no confidence in singing, through lip-sync you can feel like becoming any artist as you like.

And good thing is you don't have to worry about your lip-sync skills, unless you wish to beat these talented performers. In lip-sync I think it's all okay, whether you do it over-exaggeratedly or seriously. Either way you become so funny and people will be pleased to "listen to" you.

436 Constellation

If we could see thousands of millions of stars shining in the sky every night, whether in city or in suburbs, what would we find? Do we also draw the animals and myth stories with some of the brightest stars, like ancient people? I would definitely like to see it, as even the simplest constellation like Big Dipper or Orion makes me wonder how marvelous they look.

435 In the Elevator

Sometimes the awkwardness in the elevator where strangers are stuffed in a little box in a silence. People tend to look at the floor light above, or look down their foot. But I happened to see two perfect ways to break the ice in the elevator.

First, the child. There was a man with his little daughter. Then a woman came carrying a stroller with her baby son. The instance the girl saw the boy she reached her hand to gently stroke the baby's head (apparently the two kids had not met before.) The dad and the mom, almost all the people there including me got pleasant at the sight and started to smile (or at least pretended to do.)

Second, the joke. I was surrounded by a group of people who seemed to just have finished their happy dinner with wine, getting drunk moderately. One of them was talking about how the night view from the restaurant was splendid and the sight of famous high-rise tower nailed him. The other man made a joke on one of the words the first man had said on the tower. All the fellows were cheery and ready to laugh at any joke (and they did so) because of the slight intoxication. The atmosphere was so happy that I almost joined their laughing and tried to tell them one or two jokes myself.

If there's one thing that equals child and joke (with a little help of alcohol) in breaking the silence in the elevator, it would be an animal. But I just don't see them in the elevator so often.

434 Minimalism

I was talking with my friend about clearing up the furnitures and interior, cutting off clutters. Basically we were fond of minimalism way. After that I noticed a bird flying. Then I thought, ability to fly means embodiment of ultimate minimalism. They are practically carrying as little weight or anything hampering to their movement in the air as possible. Life as a bird, "ready to fly", doesn't make sense to human (of course) but they are true minimalist.

433 Here's To Never Growing Up

Avril is back--- was what I felt when I first listened to this song. In reality today's artists (or not limited to today's, they have been always ever) seem frequently change their outfit and style and even the musicality whatever they like, and I don't mind if Avril Lavigne truly got back to her roots of teenage punkish anthem that everyone of the age loved including me, or not. It's just cool song and the straightforward message captivates me. In this video with bunch of reckless teenagers at prom party night she songs to celebrate those who never grow up, stay young at heart. This simplicity and irresistible happiness strike me.

One moment in the video attracted my attention when the film almost paused for a good deal of time showing her red wristwatch. At first I didn't realize clearly but soon got the point, that obviously the second hand of the watch was still. Of course it means "to never to grow up." Being once a MTV-addicted teenager myself, I've seen lots of cool music films but sometimes such a simple but witty idea dazzles me.

432 Ultraviolet

In the season of fresh green leaves they look most brilliant in the glaring sunlight. It may be odd to say that I‘m kind of envious of them as they grow up soaked in light from sunrise to sunset, but if only this strong ultraviolet doesn't harm human at all, I'd wish to be in sunlight always as them.
