704 Danny Collins

Danny Collins is a story about a middle-aged rock star who suddenly realized what was the true value of his life, after years of corruption and laziness, inspired by a letter to him from John Lennon which had never been delivered to him. It's amazing that this is "a bit" based on a true story. This is a very well-made, heart-warming but full of cynical humor thanks to the unparalleled performances by Al Pacino, Christopher Plummer, Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner and Bobby Cannavale. I like this movie so much because it never falls into an easy and quirky plot that I would have thought of, like the issue of whether the letter was really from John Lennon or just a fake one. It's all about matured dialogue and communication and power to believe bonds between people, to believe you can just start over.
